Desolation Wilderness to Donner Pass

Hello everyone!
Greetings from Donner Pass , California.! For the past 4 days I've been traveling north on the PCT from Desolation Wilderness (out of South Lake Tahoe) to Donner Pass.
It has truly been a spectacular hike for many reasons. The mountains are filled in color with every plant seemingly in bloom.! This hike has been nothing like the desert. Water is plentiful, I haven't seen a rattlesnake, and I'm out hiking my own hike.
I'm not hiking with anyone, but I have seen quite a few people on this stretch. I've run into a few PCT hikers. At this point in the trail, they are just out of the Sierras and the best way to describe them is trail worn. I ran into one of these thru hikers a couple days ago on a beautiful section of trail. We talked briefly on the side of the trail. He asked if I had lost my trail legs. Without giving it a thought I said "yep". Shortly thereafter he said he's gotta go and make some miles and lhe literally ran down the trail. I stood there looking at the scenery and just smiled. I no.longer see this trail as a thru hiker......and this is why I'm enjoying it so much. It's freeing to let go of a timeline or destination. I'm just hiking. I'm just enjoying what the day gives. I'm much slower than most of the hikers out there right now....and I wouldn't have it any other way.
I still have no idea how long or how far I'll go on this trip. I'll go home when the time is right. I realize how lucky I am to be out here (for a second time!). Thank you for following along.
Below is a link to a video I threw together tonight with photos from the last few days. The song sums up my mind frame.
Hope everyone is well!

So delighted for your return to the PCT with fresh eyes and a lighter load - in all ways! Happy Trails 🥾🌲⛺️⛰️
